Lemonade
PLACEHOLDER — real copy from Beth replaces this file
There’s a story behind this recipe — where it came from, who taught it to whom, what it meant to the people who passed it down. That story is Beth’s to tell, and it isn’t invented here. This page is placeholder text standing in the spot where her real words will eventually go.
What we can show you now is the recipe card itself, front and back, exactly as it appears in the book — it’s real, not a placeholder. The “sweet” ingredients are things like grit, determination, forgiveness, sunniness, and kindness; the “sour” ones are irritation, resentment, impatience, stubbornness, and spite. Mix with fervor until the sour dissolves and the sweet comes through. That’s the whole method, and it’s a good one.
Below you’ll find the card as a couple of images, plus a real download link for the full recipe as a PDF — so if you’re the kind of person who wants that in your back pocket, it’s there.
When Beth’s real story lands here, expect it to explain how this recipe became part of the book at all, and maybe why “lemonade” was the right metaphor for turning a hard day into something worth sharing. Until then, enjoy the card on its own — it holds up fine without the origin story attached.
